About Floored

Floored is a free daily game about rankings. Every day you get five ranked lists, like the highest-grossing films ever or the most populous US states, and a target floor for each. Floor number is rank. Guess anything on the list and the lift rides to its real floor. Land on the exact floor to score big.

Scoring

Getting it on your first guess is an Express: 10 points. Every extra guess costs a point: 9, 8, 7, then 6 on your fifth guess (stops with only 3 guesses go 10, 8, 6). If you never land it, your closest guess scores 4 (1 floor off), 3 (2 off), 2 (3–4 off) or 1 (5–7 off). Max 50 a day. Your "floors off" total adds up how far your closest guess was on each stop: golf rules, zero means you found every floor.

Where the rankings come from

Tap "See all options" during a stop to see every item on the list, and its source and date once the stop is over. We use official or well-documented sources (Wikipedia lists, census bureaus, the IMF, Forbes, league records and so on). Tied entries share a floor, so any of them counts. Spotted a mistake? Use "Something off?" under the answers on the results screen, or email hello@playfloored.com.

Questions

Is Floored like Wordle?

It's a daily puzzle you can share like Wordle, but instead of guessing a word you're guessing your way to a rank. Each guess tells you whether the target is higher or lower, so it plays a bit like a higher-or-lower game across five lists.

When does the new puzzle come out?

At midnight in your own time zone, every day. Everyone gets the same five lists and targets for each date.

What kind of lists are there?

Box office hits, best-selling video games and albums, the most valuable companies, the biggest countries and cities, the most-followed Instagram and TikTok accounts, sports records, baby names, presidents, the Pokédex and more. Every day mixes different topics.

Can I play old puzzles?

Yes. The Archive has every past day, and Practice gives you random stops whenever you like. Neither counts toward your streak.

Do I need an account?

No. Your progress saves in your browser. Signing in with Google is optional and just keeps your streak and stats across devices.

Is it free?

Yes, completely.
